This ring features a beautiful natural Ethiopian oval opal that I have set into a hand fabricated bezel setting. The band is a comfortable round band with a mirror polish.

Opal is the birthstone for October.

CARE:
The bezel setting makes the stone more secure and protects against bumps from normal wear. Opal has a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Please wear your opal with caution as it can chip and crack as all opals are on the softer side. • Ethiopian opal is hydrophane (from the Greek meaning “water loving”) and absorbs liquids. Because of this, the stone can absorb liquids that will damage its color properties; any water it absorbs should dry in a day or two without damaging the stone. Be aware that oils, soaps and chemicals (including perfumes), if absorbed, may stain the stone, changing its color or damaging its signature play of light. Clean the stone with a soft cloth. Never clean using soap, chemicals, oil, steam or ultrasonics.
